Certain windows in buildings may require fire and smoke separation while allowing visible light through. Although several types of glass products are available in the market today including wired, toughened or heat strengthened glass they only provide a certain level of protection from fire or smoke and need added sprinkler protection to comply with the prescriptive requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA2005).
An alternative solution is to use a fire-rated glass and window system to provide protection from fire and smoke spread
eliminating the need for wall-wetting sprinklers.
